Tiger Brokers (AU) Pty Limited runs the Australian arm of Tiger Brokers, owned by Nasdaq listed UP Fintech Holding Limited. The Sydney firm holds Australian Financial Services Licence number 300767, giving access to ASX, US, Hong Kong, and China A share markets through the Tiger Trade app.
The wider group has run into real trouble outside Australia. In 2023, a New Zealand court fined the local Tiger Brokers unit 900,000 New Zealand dollars for failing to check customers and keep records under anti money laundering law. In May 2026, China's regulator fined UP Fintech subsidiaries about 60 million US dollars for unlicensed cross border securities business in mainland China.
These fines targeted the New Zealand and mainland China units, not the Australian entity directly, but they reflect on how the wider group is run. UP Fintech also sold its separate FCA licensed UK business in 2025. An Australian account still relies on a group with a mixed compliance record.
