About Forex.com

Forex.com is a trading brand owned by GAIN Capital Group, a firm started in 1999 in New Jersey. StoneX Group bought GAIN Capital in 2020. US regulators have fined the firm more than once. The NFA fined it in 2010 and again in 2022, and the CFTC fined a UK unit in 2020 for wrongly onboarding US clients.

Traders can open a standard account with no commission, or a RAW account with spreads from 0.0 pips plus a small fee per lot. Forex.com runs MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and TradingView, next to its own web platform. The real minimum deposit is only 100 dollars. An inactivity fee starts only after a full year with no trades.

On Trustpilot, Forex.com holds a strong 4.6 score from thousands of reviews, and most feedback praises support and easy platforms. Even so, a real share of low reviews point to slow withdrawals and extra document checks. In January 2026, the UK arm said it will give up its own FCA licence, though StoneX Financial Ltd keeps Forex.com running under full FCA rules.

Full Forex.com Review

Forex.com is operated by GAIN Capital (now part of StoneX Group) and is one of the most established online forex brokers in the United States, founded in 1999. It is one of the very few forex brokers that is fully regulated by the NFA and CFTC and accepts US retail clients, making it a critical option for American traders.

The broker offers 80+ currency pairs, precious metals, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrency CFDs for non-US clients. For US clients, the offering is limited to spot forex and selected metals under CFTC regulations. Forex.com supports MetaTrader 4, its proprietary Advanced Trading platform, and a streamlined Web Trader.

Maximum leverage for US clients is 1:50, consistent with CFTC limits, while international clients can access leverage up to 1:200. Forex.com is particularly noted for its competitive spreads, institutional pricing through its DMA account, and a comprehensive research offering including daily analysis from its in-house research team.
