About TradeStation

TradeStation began in 1982 as Omega Research, a software firm started by brothers Bill and Ralph Cruz to help traders test their own strategies. It listed on Nasdaq in 1997 and took the TradeStation name in 2001. Japan's Monex Group bought the whole company in 2011 for about 402 million dollars, and Monex still owns it today.

TradeStation now serves active US traders in stocks, options, and futures, with its new TITAN X platform launched in 2026. It shut its own US forex desk in 2016 and moved clients to OANDA. Non US traders can still reach forex through TradeStation Global, run with Interactive Brokers UK, though the United States, Canada, and Australia are excluded.

TradeStation Securities is a FINRA and SEC regulated broker dealer and an NFA registered futures firm, with SIPC cover up to 500,000 dollars. FINRA BrokerCheck lists 33 disclosures for the firm, including a 700,000 dollar fine in 2022 for weak money laundering checks and an 850,000 dollar order routing fine.
