About Sharesight

Sharesight started in 2006, when a father and son duo in New Zealand, Tony and Scott Ryburn, got tired of tracking shares in spreadsheets and built a better way. It went online in 2008 with its first paying customer, opened a Sydney office in 2013, and launched internationally in 2015 after a two million dollar raise from its own customers. Today it serves more than 500,000 investors across over 150 countries.

Sharesight is a cloud based portfolio tracker, not a trading platform. It syncs with hundreds of brokers and finance apps, including Interactive Brokers and Charles Schwab, to automatically pull in trades, dividends, and corporate actions. It covers performance and tax reporting across more than 40 exchanges and over 100 currencies, with a free plan for up to 10 holdings.

Sharesight does not hold client money, execute trades, or offer leverage, so figures like spreads and maximum leverage do not apply here. You still need a separate brokerage account to actually buy and sell.
