About Moomoo

Moomoo Financial Inc is a SEC registered broker dealer and FINRA member, SIPC protected, and the US retail arm of Futu Holdings Limited, listed on the Nasdaq as FUTU. Leaf Hua Li founded Moomoo in Palo Alto in January 2018, building on Futu, which launched in Hong Kong back in 2012.

US clients get zero commission trading on stocks, ETFs, and equity options, with per contract options fees near half the industry average. Separate licensed entities cover other markets: Moomoo Securities Australia holds an ASIC license, and Moomoo Financial Singapore holds a Capital Markets Services license plus a Major Payment Institution license from MAS.

In December 2025, FINRA fined Moomoo Financial 125,000 dollars over Large Options Positions Reporting supervisory failures, and the firm agreed to a censure and a remediation certification. Its underlying SEC and FINRA registration remains active and in good standing outside that specific case.
