About MATba ROFEX

MATba ROFEX traced back to two old Argentine exchanges. Matba opened in 1907 as the first futures market in Latin America. Rofex started in 1909 in Rosario as an agricultural futures market. The two merged in 2019 to form Matba Rofex S.A., trading soy, corn, wheat, and peso futures.

In November 2024, shareholders approved a further merger with Mercado Abierto Electronico, known as MAE, a fixed income platform founded in 1989. The combined market launched in Rosario that December under a new name, A3 Mercados, and began running as one integrated exchange in 2025.

A3 Mercados now holds Argentina's CNV market registration number 13 and answers to the Comision Nacional de Valores. The old MATba ROFEX brand still labels some trading tools, but it is not a separate company anymore, and this is not a retail forex broker you can open an account with directly.
