LedgerEdge was a London based trading platform for corporate and government bonds, founded in 2020 by David Rutter, who also leads blockchain firm R3. It used distributed ledger technology from Corda and served institutional clients only, never retail forex or CFD traders.
The main entity, LedgerEdge Limited, Companies House number 12536606, was authorised by the FCA to run a multilateral trading facility and to deal in investments as agent. It also won a separate exemption order from the Ontario Securities Commission in 2022 to serve Canadian institutions.
Despite real backing, including investment from market maker Flow Traders, the platform never attracted enough trading volume. LedgerEdge entered administration on 1 August 2023, then moved into creditors voluntary liquidation in March 2024. It is fully closed today, with no live trading service.
