ADDX launched in Singapore in 2017 to give accredited and institutional investors a way into private equity funds, private credit, hedge funds, and other assets normally reserved for large investors. It uses blockchain technology to split these investments into smaller, tradeable pieces.
The exchange has raised more than 140 million dollars from backers that include Singapore Exchange, Temasek unit Heliconia Capital, the Development Bank of Japan, UOB, and Hamilton Lane, reaching a reported valuation of about 290 million dollars by August 2025. The entity that now holds its MAS licence, ADDX Pte Ltd, was incorporated in July 2021.
ADDX holds MAS licence number CMS100798, covering Capital Markets Services, Recognised Market Operator, and Exempt Financial Adviser activities. This is not a forex or CFD broker. Only accredited investors can open an account, typical deals start around 10,000 dollars, and private market holdings are far less liquid than public shares or listed CFDs.
