About Orbex

Orbex started life in Cyprus in 2010 under the name AFB FX Ltd, then traded as Orbex under CySEC license 124/10 for about 15 years. That EU license is now listed as under examination for voluntary renunciation, and the Cyprus entity told clients its last day of business in the EU was in July 2025.

The group now runs mainly through Orbex Global Limited in Mauritius, along with linked companies in Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Saint Lucia. These regulators offer far less protection than CySEC did. Traders use MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, with spreads from 0.0 pips and leverage up to 1:500 outside the EU.

WikiFX lists close to 30 unresolved complaints, including withdrawals taking over a month and fees above 60 dollars, plus deposit and withdrawal charges near 3 percent each. The Orbex homepage still claims Cyprus fund protection even though the firm is leaving CySEC regulation, so check that claim directly before funding an account.
