Orbex told European clients in July 2025 that it was closing its EU operation after 15 years and instructed them to close positions and withdraw funds. More than a year later, CySEC's public register continued to display Orbex Ltd license 124/10 as active, with no completed withdrawal shown.

A Departure the Register Did Not Fully Reflect

Trade reporting described the authorization as under examination for voluntary renunciation. The mismatch creates uncertainty: Orbex had told clients it was leaving Europe, while the regulator's public-facing register had not yet reflected a completed surrender.

Orbex shifted its remaining business toward entities in Mauritius, Seychelles and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Customers of those entities should not assume Cyprus investor protections apply simply because the group's brand was historically associated with a CySEC license.

What Orbex Clients Have Alleged

Independent monitoring records 29 cases, including allegations of withdrawal refusals paired with additional fee or margin demands, deposit and withdrawal charges, bonuses removed during open trades and losses connected with broker signals. These are client allegations, not CySEC findings, and the exact entity behind each account matters.

An active register entry does not place offshore accounts in Cyprus

Traders should confirm both the license status and the legal entity on their agreement. The Orbex brand alone no longer answers where an account is regulated.
