Pros
- Brand has a long history in the market, dating back to 1994
- Was once one of the largest retail forex names in Russia
- Cyprus entity did hold a real CySEC license before it was revoked
- Adopted the MetaTrader platform early, back in 2002
Cons
- CySEC fully revoked its Cyprus investment license in December 2022
- Central Bank of Russia revoked its Russian license in December 2018
- Belarus also revoked a license once held by the broker
- Any current site using the TeleTrade name today is unregulated
TeleTrade was a CFD and forex broker brand that started in 1994 and once ran one of the largest retail forex operations in Russia. Its Cyprus entity, Teletrade DJ International Consulting Ltd, was authorised by CySEC under license 129/10, and a separate Russian arm was led by Vladimir Chernobay.
Regulators shut TeleTrade down in stages. CySEC fined it 120,000 euros in 2021 for rule breaches, then fully revoked its license in December 2022. The Central Bank of Russia had already pulled its Russian license in December 2018, and Belarus revoked its license too.
TeleTrade no longer holds a real license from CySEC, the Central Bank of Russia, or Belarus, so its once regulated business is closed. The TeleTrade name still shows up on offshore sites tied to companies in places like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, but these carry no meaningful oversight. Treat any current site using this name as unregulated, and do not deposit money expecting CySEC style protection.
