- Offers both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 alongside a web platform
- Long operating history in the industry, trading since 2005
- No minimum deposit needed to open the standard SquaredPro account
Cons
- Gave up its Cyprus CySEC license in December 2025 after two fines
- Fined 35,000 euros and 50,000 euros by CySEC within the same month
- Trade press reported frozen funds owed to partner brokers in 2025
- Trustpilot reviewers report withdrawal requests stuck pending for weeks
- No longer opens new accounts through its former EU regulated entity
- SquaredElite's commission account needs an unusually high $5,000 minimum deposit
SquaredFinancial started in 2005 in Cyprus under founder Philippe Ghanem. In November 2025, CySEC fined the group twice in one month: 35,000 euros over CFD marketing rules, and 50,000 euros over a licensing issue at its Seychelles arm. Weeks later, the firm gave up its Cyprus license and stopped taking new EU clients.
SquaredFinancial now trades mainly through its Seychelles entity. It offers two accounts. SquaredPro needs no minimum deposit, but EUR/USD spreads start above 1 pip. SquaredElite needs a bigger deposit and a small commission for tighter spreads. Both use MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with leverage up to 1:500 offshore.
On Trustpilot, SquaredFinancial holds a 4.2 score from around 680 reviews, yet 22 percent leave 1 star, often over withdrawals stuck pending for weeks. Trade press also reported the firm froze partner broker funds around the same time it left CySEC. Given the fines and license exit, this broker needs real caution now.
