Lakefront Futures and Options started in Chicago in 1997 as a small introducing brokerage clearing trades through Iowa Grain Company. Jonathan Marcus and Nick Leblebijian grew it into an independent firm that now clears through several futures commission merchants, including R.J. O'Brien.
The firm only handles exchange traded futures and options on futures, plus managed futures through outside trading advisors. There is no retail spot forex or CFD product, and no fixed minimum account size. Clients trade through its own Exchange Direct platform or outside systems like CQG.
NFA records show Lakefront as an approved member and CFTC registered introducing broker since 1997, with no NFA, CFTC, or exchange action against the firm. Two CFTC reparations complaints from clients are on file. The one with a public ruling was dismissed in 2020, clearing Lakefront of fault.
