Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Only prop firm offering funded options accounts without certification or upfront capital
  • Includes live daily coaching from founder Michael Patton, not just a rulebook
  • Funded accounts start at 100000 dollars, higher than many stock prop firms
  • Traders keep 100 percent of profits until the membership fee is paid back

Cons

  • Not registered with the SEC or FINRA as a broker dealer or investment adviser
  • Only 3 to 4 percent of applicants reportedly get accepted into the program
  • Uses a membership fee model, so cost can add up beyond a single challenge fee
  • Trustpilot review count is still small for a firm operating since 2022
About Funder Trading

Funder Trading is a proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, Illinois. The legal entity is Funder Trading, LLC. Michael Patton founded it in 2022 after years running trading education programs. Unlike most prop firms on this site, Funder Trading only funds stocks and options accounts, not forex or futures.

Traders pay for a 6 month or annual membership, then must pass the TrueEdge challenge with a 5 percent return within a 22 day trading month. Passing unlocks a simulated account worth 100000 dollars or more, with an 80 percent profit split once the membership fee is repaid. Funder Trading also includes live coaching from Patton and accepts only a small share of applicants.

Funder Trading is not registered with the SEC or FINRA as a broker dealer or investment adviser. Its own terms say it does not hold client funds or give investment advice, and only offers education and simulated accounts. Trustpilot reviewers rate it well, though the review count is still small.
