FairMarkets trades from fair.markets, run by Trive Financial Services Australia Pty Ltd. The entity began in 2012 as ILQ Australia Pty Ltd, became Fairmarkets Trading Pty Ltd in 2018, then took its current name in December 2023 under Dutch owner Trive Financial Holding. It offers forex, stock, index, and commodity CFDs on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
ASIC cancelled the firm's AFS license, number 424122, effective 1 July 2026, saying it no longer carried on a financial services business in Australia. The move followed a CFD sector review that found serious deficiencies in Trive's processes, and the firm had already agreed to stop taking new Australian clients in April 2025.
The fair.markets site still describes itself as ASIC regulated and still runs a refer a friend offer worth up to 5,000 Australian dollars, neither reflecting the cancellation. Trive's international arm has since folded into the wider trive.com brand, regulated separately in Mauritius, Malta, and South Africa.
