Faida Investment Bank Limited was licensed in 1995 by Kenya's Capital Markets Authority to work as a stocks and securities broker. In December 2007, it converted into a full investment bank, adding corporate finance and research to its brokerage roots.
The firm trades Nairobi Securities Exchange shares and fixed income for retail and institutional clients, and also offers markets research and corporate finance advisory. Its founder, Bob Karina, has also served as Vice Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange itself.
Faida runs an associated broker in Rwanda, Faida Securities Rwanda, active there since 2009 and the first to sponsor an equity cross listing on the Rwanda OTC market. This is not a forex or CFD broker, so ideas like spreads or leverage do not apply here.
