Euronext FX began as FastMatch, an electronic network for spot foreign exchange founded in 2012 by Dmitri Galinov and backed by FXCM and Credit Suisse. Euronext bought around 90 percent of FastMatch in 2017 for about 153 million dollars, then renamed it Euronext FX in 2019.
The platform matches orders in spot FX, precious metals, and non deliverable forwards through engines in New York, London, Tokyo, and Singapore. Its Singapore arm, Euronext Markets Singapore, is a Recognised Market Operator under the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Clients include banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms, not everyday retail traders.
Euronext FX sits inside the wider Euronext Group, whose main stock exchanges answer to regulators like the AFM in the Netherlands and the AMF in France. Spot FX trading itself is not a regulated securities market the way a stock exchange is, so this link reflects the parent group rather than a direct license for currency trading.
