Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Regulated by CySEC in Cyprus under EU MiFID rules, license 399/21
  • Four separate regulator licenses across Cyprus, Mauritius, Seychelles and South Africa
  • Low entry cost with a Standard account open from just $15
  • Negative balance protection so your account cannot go below zero
  • Segregated client funds held apart from the company's own money
  • Won Best Newcomer Broker MEA at the UF Awards in Dubai in 2024

Cons

  • Only the Cyprus entity has EU deposit protection, the rest do not
  • Briefly paused new EU client signups in 2024 after a CEO change
  • A reviewer says Doto removed trading profit as a swap fee, unconfirmed
  • Leverage up to 1 to 500 offshore brings real risk of fast losses
  • Raw account charges a $7 round turn commission on top of the spread
  • South Africa entity is only a go between, not the actual CFD provider
About Doto

Doto started in 2019 as an app focused broker. It picked up a CySEC license in Cyprus in 2021, under the earlier name Vasby Capital Markets. Cyprus entrepreneur Timur Nemishov controls the firm. In January 2024 Doto changed CEO and briefly paused new EU sign ups, now back to normal.

Doto runs four regulated companies. Doto Europe Ltd holds the Cyprus CySEC license for EU clients. Doto Global in Mauritius, Doto International in Seychelles and Doto South Africa serve clients elsewhere, without the EU compensation fund. Doto South Africa is only a middleman, not the real counterparty.

Doto offers CFDs on forex, stocks, crypto, indices and commodities through its own app or MetaTrader 4 and 5, never the real asset. A Standard account opens from $15, spreads from 1 pip, no commission. A Raw account needs $200 with a $7 per lot fee. Leverage reaches 1 to 500 offshore, much lower for EU clients. One reviewer said Doto took a profit as a swap charge, a claim we could not confirm.
