- Wide range of markets, including forex, metals, indices, and crypto CFDs
- Low advertised minimum deposit, around $100 on its Standard account
- Supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 trading platforms
Cons
- No longer regulated in New Zealand, despite the NZ name in its history
- Only regulated by MISA in the Comoros, a small offshore authority
- Advertises leverage as high as 1:1000, far above normal safe limits
- Its New Zealand entity had to leave the country's oversight back in 2013
- The Alpari brand has changed owner and license more than once since then
Alpari entered New Zealand in 2012 and built large trading volumes fast. In 2013, new local rules pushed the firm to move client accounts to a company registered in St Vincent, and its New Zealand regulated status ended for good that year.
Today the Alpari brand is run by Parlance Trading Ltd, a company licensed by the Mwali International Services Authority in the Comoros, under number T2023236. This is a small offshore regulator, far lighter than bodies like the FCA or ASIC.
Alpari still lists a wide range of markets and low advertised fees, plus leverage as high as 1:1000 on some accounts. New Zealand traders can still open an account, but they get no local regulatory protection, despite the brand still carrying the NZ name in its history.
