Advanced Currency Markets Review
Advanced Currency Markets was a Geneva forex broker bought by Swissquote Bank in 2010. Its website has redirected to Swissquote since 2013, so it no longer trades under its own name.

Pros
- Ended in a clean bank acquisition, not a collapse or a fraud case
- Client business moved to Swissquote, a large, publicly listed Swiss bank
- Had a real, documented trading history of almost a decade before the buyout
- Swissquote itself is a solid, exchange listed broker with real regulation
Cons
- No longer exists as an independent broker, this page covers history only
- The old ac markets domain has redirected to Swissquote since November 2013
- FINMA did not grant ACM its own full Swiss banking licence back in 2009
- Readers cannot open a new ACM branded trading account anywhere today
Advanced Currency Markets, known as ACM, was a forex broker founded in 2002 in Geneva, Switzerland. In late 2009 Swiss regulator FINMA found that ACM did not yet meet the new rules for a full banking licence, mainly due to its business spread across many countries. Rather than keep fighting alone, ACM agreed to a full takeover.
Swissquote Bank bought ACM in an all cash deal completed in October 2010, worth about CHF 41.7 million. ACM then traded on for a few years as a Swissquote unit under its own brand. By November 2013, Swissquote merged the businesses fully and sent the ac markets.com website straight to its own site, ending ACM as a separate brand.
Today, Advanced Currency Markets does not exist as its own broker. Anyone who visits its old website lands on Swissquote instead, and Swissquote's own regulation, fees, and account terms now apply. Check Swissquote's own profile for current pricing rather than treat ACM as a broker you can join today.
