About Trading 212

Trading 212 started in 2004 in Sofia, Bulgaria, founded by Ivan Ashminov and Borislav Nedialkov. The company later moved its main base to London. In 2017, Trading 212 became one of the first brokers in the UK and Europe to offer commission free share dealing, which changed how many new investors started trading.

The app lets you buy real stocks and ETFs with no commission, or trade CFDs on shares, forex, indices, and commodities. A popular tool called Pies lets you build a basket of up to 50 stocks and ETFs, set your own target weights, and let the app rebalance it for you automatically. Trading 212 also pays interest on uninvested cash in some accounts.

Trading 212 UK Ltd is authorised by the FCA in the United Kingdom. Sister companies hold licenses from CySEC in Cyprus and the Financial Supervision Commission in Bulgaria. The service is not available in the United States, Canada, or China, but it serves clients in more than 100 other countries.
