Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Publishes a real 36 percent evaluation pass rate instead of hiding the number
  • Shows verified payout certificates with real trader names and amounts
  • Has run since 2020 with a Trustpilot rating around 4.6 from over 1,000 reviews
  • Offers day one payouts with no waiting buffer once an account is funded

Cons

  • Not registered with the SEC or CFTC as any kind of regulated firm
  • Trading is fully simulated, so funded accounts never touch real market capital
  • Only 36 percent of evaluation attempts passed in the first half of 2026
  • Relies on discount pricing and codes, so headline prices are rarely the real cost
About TradeDay

TradeDay is a futures prop trading firm. It was founded in 2020 by James Thorpe and Steve Miley, both former professional traders, and is legally known as TradeDay LLC, based in Chicago, Illinois. Traders pay a monthly fee, follow drawdown rules on a simulated account, and can reach a funded stage with a share of the profits.

The company says it has paid out more than $10 million since launch and publishes payout certificates that name real traders and amounts. It also discloses an evaluation pass rate of 36 percent for the first half of 2026, a level of openness many prop firms do not offer.

TradeDay's own site states it is not registered with the SEC or CFTC as a broker dealer, investment adviser, futures commission merchant, or commodity trading adviser, since accounts are simulated rather than real brokerage accounts. It follows CME Group exchange and CFTC trading rules for its permitted products list, but the firm itself carries no financial license.
