Advantage Futures LLC started in Chicago in 2003 under founder Joseph Guinan. It is registered with the CFTC and is a member of the NFA, under member ID 327359. The firm clears trades on CME Group, ICE, Cboe Futures Exchange, and other major exchanges for professional and institutional clients.
In September 2023, the CFTC ordered Advantage to pay a $395,000 penalty. The order found that surveillance gaps let over 12.8 million cleared contracts go unmonitored for disruptive trading between 2018 and 2022, close to 1.5 percent of client volume in that period. Advantage says it has since hired new staff and fixed its data feeds.
Advantage mainly serves proprietary trading groups, hedge funds, and professional traders rather than casual retail traders, though individuals can apply. There is no listed minimum deposit or standard spread, since pricing and margin terms are set per client through a proposal process, not a fixed retail account.
